I have been on a journey for a few months now and I’m so excited to say that in 4 months I have lost 25 pounds!!! I still have a few more to go to reach my ideal weight and I feel like I’m on the right path, and I’m never going back to where I was.

I was not fitting into my clothing, I felt extra tired and hated that I couldn’t do what I normally do when I teach. My belly was getting in the way and I didn’t recognize myself in the mirror. My kiddos are still young and I want to be active with them and more physical with them.

This journey wasn’t super easy, but I followed my coaches instructions and results were happening! I needed someone to tell me what to do! It’s funny, growing up we don’t want people to tell us what to do, but now as an adult, I need that… I need someone telling me don’t do this, and do this instead! I needed someone on my side and I was so lucky with my coach. Now we go way back. We went to school together in High School and reconnected online. He went through a lot with his weight as well and that’s why he became a nutritional coach. He has also lost a lot of weight and now he’s at his high school weight. So I am trying to get there too! Or at least close to it! It’s all about having that support and not feeling alone in your journey and it’s all mental. If you can stop being your worse enemy and just do what you are supposed to, it’s pretty easy. The hardest was the first 5 days. I did a juice cleanse and only did juice for each meal for 5 days. I was so ready to throw in the towel many times… Lol. But Kelley said go inch by inch. Focus on the next step only. Take one step at a time. It really helped thinking this way. Instead of thinking omg, how am I going to get through this for 5 days, I took one day at a time.

 After the first 5 days I was able to start eating real food, fruits and vegetables, no processed foods. I am now at the point in my journey where I can have brown/purple rice or oats added into my meals.

 I never meal planned before so I have been doing that and it really helps you stay on task. I stopped drinking coffee and it’s so important to not eat super late. I also stopped drinking alcohol. Now, I have definitely had cheat meals or snacks but not every day. It’s so fun seeing your weight go down inch by inch every day! It’s like a game.

I wanted to share a few recipes. I did a lot of homeade soups with tons of vegetables and low sodium. I have been doing tons of salads but it’s important to switch it up and eat as many fruits and vegetables as possible. He also told me about this tea which is so good and I have replaced this with my daily coffee instead. It’s moringa powder, honey, fresh lemon or lime juice and hot water. It’s so good and good for you! It really tastes so good!

Another easy recipe he gave me was banana pancakes. This recipe requires 3 ingredients. 1. Bananas, 2. Rolled Oats, and 3. Almond milk or milk to your liking. You take the oats and grind them up in the blender. Then add your bananas and milk. Cook like you would a regular pancake, just pour the pancake batter into the pan. Now, I thought they were so good by themselves I didn’t add any syrup. My daughter loved these so much that we ate these for at least two weeks straight. It’s great to prepare the ingredients the night before and then it makes it really easy in the morning to make. Food doesn’t have to be tasteless or boring! Half of the battle is just not falling into your bad habits. Feel and look your best whether you are just wanting to feel better or look better.
